If the forest is still deeply covered with snow, I recommend this circular hike (approx. 4 km). The hike can of course be combined with a stroll in Markneukirchen or a visit to the musical instrument museum.
The hike starts at the central Erlbach market square. The tourist information is also located here. Along the green dashed marking, the lightly trafficked road leads up to Lindenhöhe. Don't forget to turn around frequently and enjoy the view of the mountain silhouette. You reach the Lindenhöhe settlement and turn right just before the forest begins (green dashed marking), past the Landhotel Lindenhöhe (currently unfortunately closed). Then the path leads downhill with a view of the music town Markneukirchen. In front of the swimming pool, we cross the former Markneukirchen-Erlbach railway line. There is a barefoot path here in the summer. Via the bath trail, we then comfortably walk back to Erlbach.
