You start in Altenberg at the station and walk to the Erlebnisberg Altenberg. Here begins the Old Zaunhäuser Path, which you follow until the intersection with Clearing 30. Now turn left onto it and follow the path to the Zinnwald weather station. You pass by the snow height and ski days fence, which provides information on the winter weather of previous years. At the end of the path, turn right and follow the street for a short stretch. Then turn left onto Rosengrund Path and follow the signs via Summer Path to the Kohlhaukuppe. Once on the 786 m high mountain, you can stop at the mountain hut. It is known for its garlic specialties. Then begins the descent to Geising via Forest Path, on which you keep to the left. Now you follow the street briefly through Geising until you can turn left to the ski lift. Passing this, you proceed to the Upper Farm and via Aschergraben back to Altenberg.
