Vogtland Holiday Route means discovering many sights!
From the legendary Pöllwitzer Wald with the moor experience trail, which impressively shows beautiful nature, to the incredibly interesting Drachenhöhle Syrau not only adults find recreation, but children also an adventure at the cave entrance. You will cross Thuringian-Saxon mountain and hill country with forests, meadows and valleys as you will hardly find them anymore.

The starting point is in Zeulenroda at the corner of Leitlitzer Str./Pausaer Straße. From here you head towards Leitlitz - past the OE by the inn, continue straight and before the green area turn left and at the next intersection turn right towards Weckersdorf - over the historic stone bridge. At the OE turn left towards Bernsgrün. At the beginning of the forest path initially follow along the forest stream - at the shelter "Hölle" keep half right towards Lössau/Thierbach – past the Wisentastollen to the beginning of the forest path. Along the main road turn left towards Thierbach and keep left at the OE. After the OA Thierbach turn left towards Wallengrün - at Spitzenburg turn right to the sewage treatment plant - then straight ahead to the main road in Unterreichenau. Then turn left towards Pausa. Visit here the Globe with Earth Axis on the town hall. In Pausa keep left - in the Pausa suburb turn left to the intersection Paul-Scharf-Straße, turn left - after about 100 m continue at the green area to Bernsgrüner Straße - then right towards Bernsgrün. Before the town cross the railway crossing and at the next intersection turn left, follow the signs Syrau/Fröbersgrün. At the island turn right, at the next intersection turn left towards Frotschau and in an S-curve through the town, following the sign straight ahead towards Syrau. A detour to the well-known DrachenhöheSyrau and to the historic windmill is worthwhile. In Syrau note the bike path to the left. Head towards the train station - through the railway underpass turn left towards Fröbersgrün - at the pond straight ahead – signs - drive to Talgrund - then turn left towards Arnsgrün and continue to the Neuhäuser intersection. There turn right towards Dobia - at the next intersection straight ahead - at the next right to Dobia - then left towards Pöllwitz. The nature reserve Pöllwitzer Wald is in the immediate vicinity. In Pöllwitz turn right at the inn - at the pond turn left towards Zeulenroda-Triebes back to the starting point.
You are moving in public road traffic! Please pay attention to appropriate equipment!
For the route you do not necessarily need professional equipment but should have at least minimal equipment with you (helmet, repair kit, weather-appropriate clothing, provisions and drinking water)
Drachenhöhle Syrau, Windmill Syrau
Zeulenroda is accessible via the A9 - exit Triptis via Braunsdorf - Auma.
Public parking is available in the city center.
