White Stone, Black Stone, pointed mountain and Moravian Brethren. On this approx. 24 km long route, a beautiful view from the Hutberg and traditional half-timbered houses await you!
Großschönau probably has the most beautiful and best-preserved half-timbered houses, lined up along the Mandau river, one next to the other, each prettier than the last. We leave the Mandau valley up to the Hutberg, from which there is a nice view over the town. Mostly on wide paths, you reach the White and Black Stone. The bandit Karasek is said to have buried treasures there. Around the Forstenberg with beautiful views towards Bohemia, Spitzkunnersdorf is soon reached and thus also the Oderwitz Spitzberg with its fantastic panoramic view. The town of Oderwitz is a nice stop for all mill enthusiasts. Several mills can be visited here. Further through picturesque woods and fields to Herrnhut, another station on the Via Sacra. Here the expelled Moravian Brethren settled, and the Herrnhut Brethren community was formed.
