Trail route:
From the hiking parking lot Saigerhütte area or Grünthal station, the path follows the E3 European long-distance path (blue) towards Pföbe. Before crossing the S 216 road, we reach the Kammweg (blue), which we continue to follow. At the Pföbe junction, the path leads over the Sedanweg, the Stößerfelsenweg uphill to the Stößerfelsen (683 m, rest and viewpoint).
We turn back and walk about 400 m down the Stößerfelsenweg. Now you turn towards Sophienstein onto the Erikaweg. The Kammweg is left. At the second trail crossing, we turn towards Sophienstein. The partly wet path leads to the Sophienstein (703.5 m viewpoint), which lies about 50 m to the right of the path. Then it goes downhill on the Roter Hirschweg. At the next trail crossing, you turn towards the industrial area. There, the EB long-distance path Eisenach-Budapest (red) is reached, which we follow back to the starting point. (Circular route)
Alternative route:
At the Sedanweg / Stößerfelsenweg junction, stay on the Sedanweg until the S216 road. At this point begins the Reitsteig, which gently ascends to the Stößerfelsen. From this viewpoint, it continues to the Sophienstein and back.
