RR ERZ E05 Etappentour Radfernweg Sächsische Mittelgebirge und Erzgebirgsradmagistrale Etappe 05

Starting off at Schwarzenberg railway station, we cycle overlooking the idyllic Schwarzwasser river and across the listed roofed Neuwelt wooden bridge, also known as the Hammer Bridge, to Lauter, where the “Alte Laborantenkunst” spirits museum can be seen. At the end of the town, the route takes us through woodland to Bockau, the “lab workers’ village” which has a long tradition of making medicines and herbal liqueurs. See it for yourself in the “Wurzelbucke”, as this town is also known. Continue downhill to the Mulde cycling path. Going through the old railway tunnel in the opposite direction to the I-6 is quite an experience. Back on the cycling route, we move on to the old railway embankment, rebuilt for bicycles, on the former Chemnitz-Aue-Adorf route to Blauenthal, along to where several routes meet at a cycling path crossroads. At this point, the I-6 runs on the same path as the Karlsroute main route along the große Bockau. During our journey we will see the Blauenthal waterfall, the biggest waterfall in Saxony. At the turning towards Eibenstock we leave the I-6 and follow the signs into Eibenstock town centre, the end of this stage.
