RR ERZ E04 Etappentour Radfernweg Sächsische Mittelgebirge und Erzgebirgsradmagistrale Etappe 04

The tour starts in the spa gardens of Wiesenbad thermal baths. After a short climb, we arrive in Mildenau. From here, we continue to Annaberg-Buchholz via Königswalde beneath the Pöhl hill. The route goes through the old town past the St. Annen church, the “Factory of Dreams” collection of hand-crafted items and the market. The route continues to Schlettau, past the Frohnau Hammer with its fully functioning hammer mechanism from the 17 th century. The tour goes past the castle next to the Ore Mountain scenic railway to Scheibenberg. The incomparable “organ pipe” basalt pillars and the look-out tower can be seen from a distance. Passing over the Emmler path, we enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the 1,000 metre high Keilberg, Fichtelberg and Auersberg, and of Raschau-Markersbach with its modern and historical bridges, and the “Oberbecken” reservoir of the Markersbach pumped storage plant before we reach Schwarzenberg, the Pearl of the Ore Mountains. We recommend viewing the old town, including the castle, church and fountain with its Meissen glockenspiel.
