Understanding the infinite dimensions of the cosmos on the Sohland planet route.

Many people are fascinated by the seemingly infinite expanses of the universe. Often the numerical values used to explain even our solar system alone overwhelm us.

The Sohland planet route is intended to make the dimensions of the cosmos a little more comprehensible by presenting the planets in order of their distance from the sun using a spatial model at a scale of 1:1.4 billion.

The starting point is the relief of the solar system located directly beside the observatory. From here, the path leads to display panels presenting the individual planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in easily understandable texts – also in Czech.

The panels provide not only the dimensions of the planets but also the physical conditions encountered there.

The route not only contributes to expanding one's own knowledge but also offers wonderful views of the town and the lovely landscape surrounding Sohland.

The return path can be taken back on the planet route or through the silence of the forest along the nature trail "On the trail of the red wood ant." This is also described in this system. Just this much: an entry point is reached where the Baudenweg path is walked downhill, followed on the right and shortly after continuously again on the left along Hainspacher Straße. At the pedestrian border crossing, the mentioned path can be followed by turning left.
