The nature trail is designed as a circular route and is approximately 6.5 km long in total.
In cooperation with DBU Naturerbe GmbH, the Federal Forestry, the school hostel, the environmental office, especially nature conservation, and the SG Economy and Tourism, the trail and the content of the display boards were designed. Knowledge about the local wildlife or the trees found in the forest is conveyed, but also complex habitats such as hedgerows or heathland are presented. The topic of the military use of the forest area during GDR times is not omitted either.
Themes: hedgerow habitat, stinging insects, ants, training and teaching boundary, heath, reptiles, deadwood habitat, amphibians and dragonflies, forest animals, corvids and forest trees. On some of the 12 boards, small tasks are hidden to make learning a bit more engaging.
