The mining educational trail offers numerous opportunities with 30 stations to get to know the beautiful "Greifenstein area" more closely over 13.7 km.

This educational trail is laid out as a circular route and begins at the visitor mine "Zinngrube Ehrenfriedersdorf" on the Sauberg, where one of the Purple Path art installations created for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 is located. From there, the path continues into the industrial area and then along the old narrow-gauge railway track to the Greifenbach valley. Along the Röhrgraben, it goes to the Greifenbach reservoir. Along the way, numerous witnesses of old mining can be seen, such as adit entrances and stamp mill ruins. With the ascent to the observation rock of the Greifensteine, the view sweeps over the Ore Mountains. Further on, the Albin-Langer Way leads to Ehrenfriedersdorf, from where you return to the Sauberg via the old miners' path "Lange Gasse".
