An eventful route awaits the cross-country skier. Over about 50 km, forest sections, meadows, views, ascents, and descents alternate continuously. Several shelters invite you to rest, and in the area of Neudorf, the Prinz-Friedrich-August-Baude offers a place to stop and eat.
The longest cross-country ski trail in the Sohland – Wehrsdorf winter sports area begins at the Sohland – Schluckenau border crossing.
From here, the skier can complete a total of 55 km loop via Wehrsdorf and return to the starting point. The trails through the forest are suitable for classic skiers; about 20 km on the outbound and return trip are also possible for skaters. The signage guides securely through a very varied landscape – ascending paths, descents, and comfortable gliding sections make the route a special experience. Repeatedly, impressive views of the Upper Lusatian mountain region open up, and the winter sportsman can enjoy the silence of the snow-covered forests.
Somewhat off the main trail, but very close to the border crossing to Lipova, the shelter "Zollamthütte" (5), like all other shelters, invites you to take a short break and eat what you brought or refresh yourself with a warm drink from your backpack.
Difficulty: medium to challenging (red to black)
