The historic village walk in Jössnitz summarizes the most important sights along a barrier-free path of 2.8 kilometers. It reveals the developed agricultural structures of the "Old Village".
A Church - The 29 m high, octagonal bell tower symbolizes the eighth day of resurrection beyond the seven days of creation. The church from the year 1755 houses a donor painting with Saint George on horseback from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder around 1510.
B Half-timbered house - The half-timbered house from the 17th century shows a boarded wooden construction typical for this region. Behind the framework is the log room, whose plank walls are filled with clay on the outside. Today the guesthouse “Vogtland with Heart” is located here - pure country vacation.
C Institution for statutory accident insurance education - The education center has existed since 1996; about 7,500 trainees from across Germany are trained here annually. The facility is a significant employer and an economic factor within the town.
D Intarsia room Zahn - The gallery and demonstration workshop offers insights into the more than 3000-year-old handicraft technique of intarsia. Visitors see how unique masterpieces are created when woods with different textures are assembled into pictures.
E Village square - The central square in the old village shines in new splendor since a few years. Besides the annual maypole raising, decorating the Easter well has been a lovely tradition since 2018. The fire brigade house was built in 1924 and has been extensively renovated in recent years.
F Castle park - The park with its pond is worth seeing. Numerous benches invite you to relax. Watch the activities of the ducks, the water game of the fountain and enjoy the view of the castle.
G Castle - The so-called castle has long been the landmark of the place. It is a monument of regional historical importance and is visible from all sides. Strictly speaking, it is the small remnant of the former castle that was demolished in 1860.
H Riding facility - The Jößnitz riding facility is the venue for competitions annually on the first weekend in May and a venue for equestrians from near and far. The host riding and driving club Jößnitz e.V. organizes the tournament.
