Hike 3 - to Marieney and Eschenbach

We start our tour at the Obermarkt in Schöneck and leave the village on Schilbacher Straße in the direction of the village of the same name. At the height of the small wood, we leave the road and follow the yellow hiking trail markings to the left. In Schilbach we cross the manor Schilbach with its castle garden, which is well worth seeing. Following the path, past the “big pond”, we reach the small town of Marieney, the birthplace of the local poet Julius Mosen. Next we reach Eschenbach. We leave the small village on the wonderful hiking trail, lined with blackberry bushes and rowan trees, which leads us to the horse-head stone cross. Then we get back up to Schöneck via “Bockmühle” and “Galgenberg” to our starting point at Obermarkt. The castle playground, the “Alter Söll” lookout rock or the beer garden at the “Zur Brauschänke” restaurant now invite you to a cozy end.
