Circular hike on mining history around Carlsfeld; along the way, among other things, crossing the dam of the highest drinking water reservoir in Germany (construction period 1926-1929)

The route initially leads from the Trinitatiskirche over the Wilzsch, through the Buttergasse, and up the dam road into the forest, over the dam of the Carlsfeld reservoir, and on to Weitersglashütte; at the end of the former pure glassworks settlement, turn left onto the ridge path, past the meteorological measurement station, and again to the upper edge of Carlsfeld. At the pass height "Hefekloß" (1,788 half meters), the main road is crossed and the area of the historic "Fletzschmaul" mine is passed. Via the forest paths Frühbusser Straße and Teichweg, the hiking intersection "Spinne" is reached. From there, passing the historic mining area "Schmuge", the route goes directly back towards Carlsfeld. A magnificent panoramic view of the town is offered directly at the forest edge before descending again into the valley to the historic center with the Hammerherrenhaus and church.
