VR experience at Rochlitzer Berg: Virtual time jump into the quarry A look into the depths: 60 meters down into the Gleisberg quarry – the deepest quarry of Rochlitzer Berg. The reddish-violet porphyry tuff with its golden-yellow veins tells of centuries of hard work and is today Germany's first "Heritage Stone". With virtual reality, this history comes alive. At the Geoportal Porphyrhaus, located directly at the Gleisberg quarry, VR glasses await curious visitors. One push of a button – and you find yourself in the midst of the former quarry, experiencing the daily life of the workers and can virtually mine the Rochlitzer porphyry tuff yourself. Bookable time slots: Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., as well as Saturdays at 10 a.m. Cost: 6 euros for a 15-minute time travel.
