On the third weekend of Advent - December 13 & 14, 2025 - the Lessingstadt will be a spectacle with a very special flair and the festival grounds around the Kamenzer Malzhaus will be transformed into a fairytale Christmas market experience for two days. Almost everything is not like at an ordinary Advent market. Angels, Santa Clauses, lansquenets, fire breathers, craftsmen and fairy tale characters stroll through the alleyways at night. There are big and bigger sensations, music and surprises on every corner. Pleasant smells waft through the evening air.
On the big stage and in Santa's house, children can visit Santa Claus or experience juggling and cabaret. Scissor grinders, felt makers, craftspeople, wood carvers and potters offer unique gift ideas at the craft market in the Malzhaus cellar. There is sure to be a last-minute Christmas present for everyone here.
In the museum garden, right next door, the creative workshops attract young and old alike. Glass beads can be made by the fire, ropes twisted, pictures printed, paper scooped or chocolates made. And while the little ones are busy crafting, the grown-ups can visit the "hot hut".
In the historical camp, the lansquenets provide lots of fun and entertainment for the children, who can compete in archery. Visitors can also look forward to delicious game specialties, a large fairytale puzzle, Christmas gifts, a historical children's carousel, a storyteller, a photo workshop and, of course, a gourmet mile with plenty of food and drink. And just before Christmas, children have the opportunity to hand in their wish lists at the Christmas post office - so let's go to Kamenz!
