On April 5 and 6, 2025 the early Middle Ages will come to life at Rochlitz Castle. Visitors will experience first-hand what life was like 1100 years ago. There are crafts, medieval board games, show cooking in the black kitchen, battle demonstrations and insights into the armory.
Discover Rochlitz Castle during the season on 13 April, 22 June, 20 July, 28 September and 2 November on the "From the cellar to the floor" castle tour. Numerous gems can be discovered on the tour: the imposing cross vaults of the chapel, the black kitchen with its huge stove and functioning chimney, the enormous towers that conceal the dungeons and torture chamber and, last but not least, the magnificently restored princely house. In addition to all these rooms included in the museum tour, there are of course all kinds of areas of the castle that are not accessible and these doors are opened to visitors on this tour. For example, the medieval heating system, the doorman's apartment and the attics will be shown.
